Mrs. Cortney Schmidgall

Mrs. Cortney Schmidgall

Position: 4th Grade

Mrs. Schmidgall had the opportunity to teach in public schools for ten years before coming to Trinity Lutheran School in 2021. She graduated from Illinois State University with a Bachelors in Elementary Education in 2010 and received a Masters Degree from University of Illinois at Springfield in 2014. Mrs. Schmidgall and her husband, Caleb, are blessed with two beautiful children, Brinley and Jax.

Philippians 4:13
”I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.”

Mrs. Melanie Bondy

Mrs. Melanie Bondy

Position: Junior High English & Science

Mrs. Bondy grew up in the Detroit, Michigan area. She graduated from Central Michigan University with a degree in Elementary Education. She taught fifth grade for seven years in both Michigan and Illinois schools. After having her son, she stopped teaching for fifteen years and became an author, publisher, editor, tutor, and trainer of teachers focussing on challenging and differentiating for gifted students. Mrs. Bondy is thrilled to be back in the classroom to teach and share God’s light with young people here at Trinity Lutheran School. She is married to her husband, Scott, and they have one son, Brendan, who attends Indiana University.

Mrs. Whitney Fryer

Mrs. Whitney Fryer

Position: Pre-Kindergarten

Mrs. Fryer graduated from Illinois State University in 2006 with a degree in Information Systems and a minor in Business Administration. She worked at Western Avenue Community Center as the Director of Finance and Administration before coming to Trinity Lutheran School. In 2019 she began serving at Trinity as a Preschool Associate and is now teaching the Young 5's morning Preschool program. She and her husband, Mark, have been blessed with two sons.

Proverbs 3:5-6
Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him and he will make your paths straight.

Mrs. Jessica Meade

Mrs. Jessica Meade

Position: Administrative Assistant

Mrs. Meade has been at Trinity since July 2021. Originally from Staunton, IL, she and her family moved to the Bloomington area in May 2020. Mrs. Meade graduated from McKendree College in Lebanon, IL, with a BA in English. She has served as an administrative assistant in the Lutheran ministry since 2011. She and her husband, Joshua, have been blessed with three daughters, Adrienne, Katelyn, and Emily.

Mrs. Erin Berlin

Mrs. Erin Berlin

Position: 5th Grade Teacher

Mrs. Berlin was born and raised in Bloomington, Illinois. She graduated from Illinois State University with an Elementary Education degree and an endorsement in Reading. She and her husband are blessed with four children.

Mrs. April Myers

Mrs. April Myers

Position: Music

Mrs. Myers graduated from Illinois State University in the spring of 2000 with a BA in Music Education. She started her teaching career in the Chicago suburbs as a K-4 music teacher and continued as a Pre-K-12th grade music teacher when she moved back to Bloomington in 2003. After starting a family in 2008, she decided to teach music part-time at the high school level. Mrs. Myers lives with her husband Josh and their children Gracie and Simon.

Mr. Scott Heape

Mr. Scott Heape

Position: Financial Assistant

Scott is excited to use his skills to help the school fulfill its mission of developing well-rounded, lifetime Christian disciples.  He graduated from Illinois State University in 2000 with a BS in Accountacy. When not working at the church or school, he is the Co-Founder and Practice Administrator at Heartland Foot & Ankle Associates, P.C. along with his wife Dr. Melissa Lockwood.  Scott & Melissa’s two children (Lauren & James) are current students and future TLS Warrior alumni! When he does have free time, he enjoys playing with the kids, watching sports including college football, the NFL and NASCAR, and traveling with his family.

Mrs. Amy Oun

Mrs. Amy Oun

Position: Spanish Teacher

Amy has been teaching at Trinity since 2018. She holds a BA in Elementary Education and a middle school content endorsement in Spanish, among others, from Illinois State University. She and her husband Randy each grew up in the Chicago suburbs but met at ISU. They have called Bloomington-Normal their home ever since graduation. Their two daughters attended Trinity from preschool. Amy is passionate about helping students expand their view of the world through foreign language and cultures. In her free time, she enjoys stamping and paper crafting.

"God’s voice thunders in marvelous ways; he does great things beyond our understanding. He says to the snow, ‘Fall on the earth,’ and to the rain shower, ‘Be a mighty downpour.’”

Mrs. Abby Dunt

Mrs. Abby Dunt

Position: 4th Grade Teacher

A proud alumna of Trinity Lutheran School, Mrs. Dunt is blessed to be working alongside some of the very teachers who inspired her to follow God’s Call and become a Lutheran school teacher. Mrs. Dunt is a 2010 graduate of Concordia University Wisconsin with a degree in Early Childhood Education. Mrs. Dunt is married to her husband Alex, whom she met at Trinity Lutheran School! God has blessed them with three children, Cora, Ellie, and Luke.

Mrs. Jill Peters

Mrs. Jill Peters

Position: 3rd Grade Teacher

Mrs. Peters has been at Trinity since graduating from Concordia University Chicago with a BA in Elementary Education in May 2007. She was raised on a farm near Cissna Park, IL. She and her husband John along with their four children, Adelynn, Konnor, Emmie and Beckett, live in the country outside of Atlanta. Mrs. Peters is so blessed to be a Child of God, a part of the Trinity family, and to share the love of Jesus!
